MEDICARE PART A

Medicare Part A provides coverage for hospital expenses, including hospital stays, skilled nursing care, and home health-care services. Deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments may apply. Eligibility for Part A is typically earned by paying Medicare taxes for a minimum of 10 years while working. If you did not meet the requirements for earning Part A, a premium will be required for enrollment.

MEDICARE PART B

Medicare Part B provides coverage for a range of services aimed at treating illnesses and conditions, including doctor’s office visits, lab work, x-rays, and outpatient surgeries. It also includes preventive services such as cancer screenings and flu shots. Additionally, Part B covers medically necessary durable medical equipment like wheelchairs and walkers for treating specific diseases or conditions. Most individuals are required to pay a premium for Part B, even if they are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan that already covers Part A and Part B benefits

MEDICARE PART C

Medicare Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage, is an alternative to Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. It combines the benefits of Part A, Part B, and often Part D (prescription drug coverage) into one plan. Medicare Part C plans may offer additional benefits, such as dental, vision, and hearing coverage, that are not typically covered by Original Medicare. These plans usually have networks of healthcare providers, and members may need to use in-network providers to receive the full benefits. Medicare Part C plans are an option for individuals who prefer a comprehensive Medicare plan with additional benefits and potentially lower out-of-pocket costs.

MEDICARE PART D

PRESCRIPTION DRUG

 –SUPPLEMENTAL-

While Original Medicare does not include prescription drug coverage, enrolling in Medicare Part D can be highly beneficial if you require medications. It’s important to note that there is a late-enrollment penalty if you do not sign up for Medicare Part D coverage when you first become eligible. To obtain prescription drug coverage, you can choose between an independent Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) or a Medicare Advantage Plan that includes prescription drug coverage.
